Friends of the Library Gold Coast Launch

Celebration
27 May 2010 05:30 pm - 07:30 pm
Inside the Library, G10, Gold Coast campus

It is my pleasure to invite you to attend the launch of the Friends of Griffith University Library. The major aim of the Friends is to foster mutually beneficial relations between the Library and the communities it serves across its five campuses stretching from the Gold Coast to South Bank in the Brisbane CBD.

Our guest speaker at the launch will be local crime writer, Katherine Howell. Before becoming a successful crime writer, Katherine worked in a variety of jobs while completing her BA and Master of Philosophy degrees in writing. Katherine has published four novels - her first novel, ‘Frantic’, was published in Australia in 2007 by Pan Macmillan, and won the Davitt award for crime fiction the following year. Katherine’s most recent novel, ‘Cold Justice’, was released in Australia in February 2010 to rave reviews including “a powerful and high-adrenaline tale of murder and intrigue” featuring a detective who is “a complex and appealing character whose passion for crime solving is both endearing and compelling and keeps the pace of the book racing.” Please join us to hear what promises to be a compelling talk from Katherine while enjoying some light refreshments in our recently refurbished library.
