The Carrick Institute Grants Scheme for 2007 opened with the Priority Projects Program which closed for applications on February 26. Two remaining programs, Leadership for Excellence in Learning and Teaching and Competitive Grants are still open. Deadlines for these are listed below. Funding and mentoring support has been offered to Griffith applicants, whose Expressions of Interest or Full Proposals for Carrick Institute Grants are received by internal deadlines set by the University and which are forwarded, upon the advice of the University's Educational Excellence Committee, to the Carrick Institute for assessment. To obtain further advice about how to access the funds and mentoring support, please contact Karen van Haeringen on ext. 57726 or via e-mail K.vanhaeringenREMOVETHISTEXT@REMOVETHISTEXTgriffith.edu.au. The internal closing dates have been adopted to provide grant applicants with an opportunity to receive peer review before lodging their application with the Carrick Institute.

The Carrick Institute is interested in receiving grant applications for projects that are to be undertaken collaboratively with other institutions and that have a benefit to other institutions and the sector as a whole. For these reasons I encourage all staff interested in making an application to discuss their proposal with their Group/Faculty Dean/Deputy Director (Learning and Teaching) and seek assistance from them in identifying appropriate cross-institutional partners. GIHE is also available to provide advice on the development and scoping of applications. For assistance from GIHE in this regard, please contact Professor Kerri-Lee Krause in the first instance.
All grant applications are to be lodged with Ms Trish MacElroy in the Secretariat in accordance with the relevant Griffith deadline.
